Donation & Refund Policy

1. General Policy
Normally, donations are considered an irrevocable gift for charitable purposes. However, the Foundation values transparency and donor trust.
2. Refund for Cancelled Events/Initiatives
If a donor contributes funds specifically for a named event, program, or campaign and the Foundation is unable to conduct said event or initiative:
- Full Refund: The Foundation will initiate a return of the full amount contributed by the donor.
- Notification: We will notify the donor via their registered email regarding the cancellation and the refund process.
3. Eligibility for Other Refunds
Refunds may also be requested within 10 working days of the transaction for:
- Technical errors resulting in duplicate transactions.
- Unauthorized use of a donor's credit/debit card (subject to bank verification).
- Data entry errors (e.g., adding an extra zero to the donation amount).
4. Refund Process
- Request: Email info@ebgfoundation.org with the Subject: "Refund Request - [Transaction ID]".
- Verification: Our accounts team will verify the claim against our bank statements.
- Timeline: Once approved, the refund will be processed within 10-15 business days.
- Mode: Refunds will be credited back to the original payment source (Bank Account/Card/UPI) used during the transaction.
5. Statutory Note
If a tax deduction certificate (e.g., Form 10BE / 80G receipt) has already been issued to the donor and submitted to the Tax Authorities, the refund may be subject to additional verification or may not be possible due to legal restrictions.
6. Administrative Charges
The Foundation reserves the right to deduct actual payment gateway transaction fees (usually 2-3%) charged by third-party providers, as these are non-recoverable costs, unless the refund is due to a cancellation of an event by the Foundation itself.
